Izumi – Allerød
Architecture /
2018
The project is to renovate an old bank into a restaurant, located in Allerød. The project challenges to translate the restaurant concept of “Scandinavian twisted Japanese” to the space experience. Scandinavia and Japan have a long history of influencing each other, especially in the field of design. The idea is to make this history itself to be a representative of the restaurant concept. By adding delicate changes to the Japanese material and dimensions system, we made them closer to the Danish culture. As a result, the spatial experience evokes a feeling of a mixture of cultures.
