The interior and staircase design for car showroom in Kagoshima, Japan.
Inspired by the building’s location, originally a timber trading port, we designed a unique structure staircase with wooden blocks and a steel frame that runs gently up to the upper floor. Looking at the staircase from eye level, the view can be seen through the gaps in the wooden blocks, giving a sense of transparency and lightness.
